Box Score Chestertown, Md - The Washington College field hockey team gave No. 10 ranked Ursinus all that they could handle but fell by a score of 3-2 in a Centennial Conference match on Saturday afternoon. The Shorewomen dropped to 5-4 (1-1) and the Bears improved to 7-2 (2-0).
How It Happened
- Junior forward Julianna Sterling put the Shorewomen on the board first as she fought for a loose ball in front of the net and stuffed in her fourth tally of the season just 1:08 into the match.
- The Bears got even at the 12:17 mark as senior midfielder Jamie Mayer put one past sophomore goalkeeper Sasha Dennis.
- Senior midfielder Madison Parker gave Washington College a 2-1 edge after receiving a feed from freshman forward Kat Esposito at the 19:13 mark.
- Ursinus got even at 23:20 as freshman forward Mary Lauren Franz tallied off an assist by Jordan Moore.
- The Bears then scored the game-winning goal with just over five minutes left in the half on a marker by senior midfielder Devon Carroll.
