Box Score Franck Tallies 13 Digs and Five Aces
CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Washington College volleyball team picked up its first Centennial Conference win of the season with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-10) win over visiting Bryn Mawr on Wednesday evening at Penny J. Fall Gymnasium. The Shorewomen are now 7-7 overall on the season and 1-2 in the Centennial, while the Owls are 5-9 and 0-4 respectively.
Washington College 3 Bryn Mawr 0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-10)
How It Happened
- In the first set, WC trailed 15-13 before rolling off eight straight points to take a 21-15 lead on an attack error by Bryn Mawr. Jenna Daunoras ended the set with a kill.
- The Shorewomen led 12-9 in the second set before scoring eight unanswered points to lead 20-9 on an ace by Jensyn Hartzell. Jordan Fairchild clinched the second on a kill.
- Colette Franck would serve the first 18 points of the third set, including four aces, as WC would lead 18-0. Courtney Maxwell tallied an ace to end the set and match as the Shorewomen had six aces in the third.
For The Shorewomen (7-7, 1-2 CC)
- Franck (match-bests of 13 digs and five aces), Maxwell (match-high 12 kills), Lauren Zedlar (20 assists), Jordan Fairchild (10 digs), Hartzell (17 assists)
- Team hit .290 in the contest, notched three rejections and served up 11 aces.
For Bryn Mawr (5-9, 0-4 CC)
- Zoe Boxill (10 digs), Sydney Collins (12 assists), Nicole Wood (eight kills), Sydney Munnerlin (two aces)
- The Owls hit -.048 in the contest, had zero blocks and three aces.
Notes
- Franck set her career-high in aces in the win and served up an ace in the first point of the first and third sets.
