Shorewomen and Fords Play to Scoreless Tie

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College and visiting Haverford played to a 0-0 double overtime draw on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium in Centennial Conference women's soccer action on Wednesday evening.  The Shorewomen are now 4-2-2 overall and 0-0-2 in conference play, while the Fords are 3-2-2 and 0-1-1 respectively.

How It Happened
- Washington had the game's first scoring chance in the 9th minute on a free kick by Bess Mascone, but her shot hit the top of the crossbar and out for a goal kick.
- Ella Manning had the Fords lone shot of the first half in the 14th minute, but Noah Smith made the save on the shot from the top of the box.
- Rachel Chatfield had a chance off of a free kick from near midfield to put WC ahead, but Haverford's Hannah Friedrich was able to tip the ball over the crossbar to keep it scoreless at the 17:36 mark.
- In the second half, Reagan Longridge had a chance to put Washington ahead in the 64th minute, but her shot went just wide to the left from about 20 yards out.
- Emily Morris had two chances for the Shorewomen in the final three minutes of the game, but they missed high and to the left with the latter coming with 36 seconds left for the final shot of regulation.
- Haverford's Alyssa Saito had the only shot of the first overtime session, but the shot was wide right.
- In the second OT, the Fords held a 4-1 shot advantage with the last shot coming from Celia Paige with 52 ticks left, but it went just wide.  In the 108th minute, Chatfield had the Shorewomen's last shot, but it was saved off the free kick.

For The Shorewomen (4-2-2, 0-0-2 CC)
- Scorers: None
- Goalkeepers: Smith (3 saves, 0 goals allowed, 90:00) 
- Totaled nine shots and three corner kicks for the match. 

For Haverford (3-2-2, 0-1-1 CC)
- Scorers: None
- Goalkeeper: Friedrich (4 saves, 0 goals allowed, 90:00)
- Took nine shots and three corner kicks in the contest.

Notes
- Smith was named the Goose Nation TV Shorewoman Player of the Game.
- It is the second straight scoreless draw between the two teams.  The last time they played was in October 2019 at Haverford.
- Washington played in its second straight 0-0 tie as they tied Franklin & Marshall on Saturday by the same score.
