Box Score Washington D.C. – Washington College junior outside hitter Courtney Maxwell delivered a double-double (10 kills, 10 digs) but the Shorewomen fell in three straight sets against the Goucher Cardinals on Wednesday evening.

How It Happened
- Washington College jumped out to an early 6-4 advantage to open the match as Maxwell (2 kills) and sophomore outside hitter Angelina Schaber combined for three kills. However, the hosts went on a 12-4 run to take a 16-10 advantage. The lead ballooned to 22-11 and the Shorewomen were unable to recover.
- In the second set, senior middle hitter Jenna Daunoras and Maxwell put down kills to give the visitors a 3-2 lead but Catholic scored five of the next six points to grab a 7-4 edge. Washington College closed within 10-9 after an attack error but were unable to get any closer. A winner by Maxwell brought the Shorewomen within 24-21 but Amy Luma put down a kill to close out the frame.
- Once again, the Shorewomen got off to a good start as they held an 8-5 lead to start the third set. But a 9-2 spurt by the Cardinals provided them with a 14-10 lead. Washington College managed to trim the deficit to 22-20 after a kill by senior setter Jensyn Hartzell off an assist from sophomore defensive specialist Jordan Fairchild. Catholic was forced to call a timeout but the Cardinals scored the next three points to close out the match.
