COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Host Ursinus jumped out to a 3-0 lead after three quarters and held off a fourth quarter charge from visiting Washington College to record a 3-2 win in a Centennial Conference field hockey game on Saturday afternoon at Snell Field Hockey Field. Both teams are 4-5 overall and 1-1 in the Centennial.

How It Happened
- Ursinus took the lead 2:48 into the game when
Mary Lauren Franz gathered a loose ball and her shot from seven yards out found the back of the cage to put the hosts ahead 1-0.
- The Bears finished off a penalty corner to grab a 2-0 late in the first quarter.Â
Laura Rothschild took the corner and
Sarah Symes stopped the ball with her stick on the ground. From the top of the circle
Jordan Moore blasted it in the left side of the goal with 2:36 to go.
- Neither team scored in the second quarter as Ursinus took a 2-0 lead into halftime.
- Rothschild found Franz at the right post and Franz put it into an empty goal to give the hosts a 3-0 lead 3:20 into the third quarter and that would be the score after three.

Anna Harrington got the Shorewomen onto the scoreboard 5:15 into the fourth quarter when she got a feed from
MaryCate Anson and put it into the cage from six yards out to cut the lead to 3-1.

Alexis Tackney got WC within one with 44 seconds to go as she tipped in a pass from Harrington. However, Ursinus prevented Washington from a shot to try to force overtime and held on for the win.
