Senior men's swimmer
Gage Mandrell (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) is this week's Shoreman of the Week. Mandrell had three individual victories and was part of three winning relays on the weekend at the Arena Yellow Jacket Invitational in Virginia.
Mandrell won the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.61), 200 backstroke (1:52.10) and 200 individual medley (1:54.03). In relays, the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Mandrell,
Bianti Danaj,
William Schmidt and
Chase Hensen won the relay with a time of 1:25.04 with Mandrell's leadoff time of 21.08 places him fourth all-time in program history in the 50 freestyle. In the 400 medley relay, the squad of Mandrell, Hensen,
Justin Fitzpatrick and Danaj captured top spot with a time of 3:28.75. Mandrell moved up two spots to fourth all-time in the 100 backstroke leading off the relay with a time of 52.16. In the 800 freestyle relay, the team of
Jack Poleto,
Zach Affeldt, Morris and Mandrell grabbed the first place spot in 7:08.62.
This is Mandrell's seventh career Shoreman of the Week honor.
