Highlights
WESTMINSTER, Md. – Visiting Washington College used a 16-1 run in the second quarter to take the lead for good in a 62-45 win over host McDaniel on Tuesday night at the Gill Center in Centennial Conference women's basketball action. The Shorewomen, who swept the season series for the first time since 2012-13, improve to 13-8 overall and 9-7 in the Centennial, while the Green Terror fall to 6-16 and 4-13 respectively.

How It Happened
- The Green Terror, who scored the game's first five points, led 14-7 with 57 seconds left in the first quarter on a Ellie Connelly three-pointer before the Shorewomen canned back-to-back threes to cut the lead to 14-13 after one. Kaleigh White beat the buzzer as she rattled in a triple.
- Trailing 25-20 following a triple by Julia Ryan with 5:47 to go in the second quarter, the Shorewomen finished the second quarter on a 16-1 run to take a 36-26 lead into halftime. Serena Pluta gave WC its first lead of the game with 3:11 to go in the second at 27-25 on a jumper. Andrea Prestianne capped the outburst on a jumper with eight ticks left to give the visitors a 10-point halftime advantage.
- In the third quarter, McDaniel cut the lead to 39-35 with 3:40 left on a Meggie Burgess jumper before Washington scored seven straight to take its biggest lead of the game at that juncture, 46-35, with 1:49 remaining on a Joy Sanders three from the left corner. The Shorewomen took a 46-37 lead into the fourth.
- Washington outscored McDaniel 16-8 in the fourth quarter and the closest the hosts got was within seven, 46-39, early in the quarter.

- Jones (game-high 17 points and two blocks), Madeline Williams (eight rebounds), Prestianne (five assists)
- WC shot 39% from the floor (24-for-62), 32% from three-point range (7-for-23) and 50% (4-for-8) from the foul line in the game.
- The Shorewomen turned it over nine times and held a 39-37 edge on the glass.
- WC outscored McDaniel in bench points, 12-3, points in the paint, 20-10, points off turnovers, 18-4, second chance points, 10-4, and transition points, 9-2.
For McDaniel (6-16, 4-13 CC)
- Katie Klein (team-high 15 points), Burgess (12 points), Josey Klingenberg (eight boards, six assists and five steals)
- The Green Terror shot 30% from the floor (16-for-54), 26% from three-point land (5-for-19) and 89% from the foul stripe (8-for-9).
- McDaniel had 15 turnovers in the game.
Notes
- Washington won both in the 2012-13 season by scores of 79-63 and 71-69. The season sweep in 2021-22 was the Shorewomen's second all-time against the Green Terror.
