Koffie’s Bolt Propels Shoremen to 1-0 Win Versus Fords

Washington Tops Haverford for Third Straight Year

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Sophomore forward Shepherd Koffie (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) scored the only goal of the game in the seventh minute to give host Washington College a 1-0 win over visiting Haverford on Saturday afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium in Centennial Conference men's soccer action.  The Shoremen are 7-0-5 overall and 4-0-1 in the Centennial on the season, while the Fords fall to 2-3-7 and 0-2-3 respectively.  Washington has topped Haverford three straight times.

Washington College 1 Haverford 0

How It Happened
- Koffie scored the lone tally of the game 6:50 in as his shot from about 15 yards out on the right side outside of the box was roped over the head of the Haverford goalie Dylan Ioffreda and into the left side of the goal.
- Chris Comber nearly made it 2-0 in the 54th minute on a header off of a free kick, but Ioffreda made the stop from about eight yards out.
- Haverford's best chance to tie it came with 1:38 left off of a free by Tomas Ascoli that was saved by Anthony Pinto.  The Fords earned a corner kick off the save, but could not generate a shot off of it and the Shoremen ran out the clock.

- Scoring: Koffie (goal)
- Goalkeeper: Anthony Pinto (2 saves, 0 goals allowed, 90:00)
