Senior field hockey player
Kate Gromacki (Forest Hill, Md./John Carroll) is this week's Shorewoman of the Week. Gromacki helped the Shorewomen on both ends of the field in a 2-0 week by helping the defense post a pair of 2-0 home shutout wins over Haverford and #16 Ursinus and assisted on the game-winning goal against Haverford.
Gromacki tallied the assist on the winning score by
Ashley Swan 53 seconds into the fourth quarter in Washington's 2-0 victory over Haverford on and was part of a defensive unit that limited Haverford to just four total shots in the game. On Saturday against nationally ranked Ursinus, she helped the Shorewomen restrict Ursinus to just nine shots after Ursinus had averaged almost 24 shots a game in its past three contests.
This is Gromacki's first career Shorewoman of the Week honor.
