FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Washington college men's soccer team took on Connecticut College with a spot in the Final Four on the line.
Chris Comber capped a dominant first half by Washington with a goal to put the Shoremen up 1-0 at the break. The Shoremen defense and keeper Pinto had an answer for everything the Camels threw up in the second half as Washington advanced to the Final Four for the first time in program history.Â

How It Happened
- The Shoremen owned the first half, out shooting the Camels 7-0. Camels' keeper Peter Silvester produced three saves in the opening 45 minutes but was unable to keep the Shoremen off of the board. Washington earned a corner in the 29
th minute, the Camels failed to clear, producing a scramble in the box. The ball fell to senior defender
Chris Comber who gathered and fired home to put Washington up 1-0 at the half.Â

-Washington continued to out shoot the Camels into the second half, forcing saves by Silvester to keep the game at 1-0. In the 77
th minute, Connecticut forced a scramble in front from a corner kick, producing a save by Pinto to keep the Shoremen in front.Â

-Pinto made another save at the 84
th minute mark as the Camels pushed for an equalizer. The Camels launched the ball into the box late but Pinto was there to secure.Â
