CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Washington College volleyball played host to Gettysburg on senior day Saturday in a Centennial Conference matchup. The Shorewomen started out the match the better squad, taking the first set by nine points. Gettysburg grew into the game in sets two and three to get a grip on the match. The visitors pulled away in the final set to finish off a road win. Â

How it Happened:

-Washington with a senior studded lineup opened the match on a 14-6 run. The Shorewomen continued to pile up points as Gettysburg struggled to get going. Washington would take the opening set by nine points.Â

-Gettysburg began to get things going in set two. The visitors opened with an 11-6 run and kept at least a four-point lead for the entire set to even the match. Set three was the most even of the match as both teams traded points throughout. Down the stretch, the Bullets held a 20-19 advantage and rattled off four in a row to get a set point. Washington then rallied with four of their own before the Bullets finally secured the 25
thpoint and the set.Â

-Set four had a similar feel as set three with both teams trading points. An 8-4 run by the Bullets put them in control with a 16-12 lead. The Shorewomen fired right back to tie the set at 16. The Bullets then went on their best run of the match, a 9-1 stretch that took set four and the match.Â
