CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Washington College women's lacrosse team opened up Centennial Conference play in style with a 15-9 home-win over Ursinus. The Shorewomen gave up the first goal of the game but went on to score seven of the next eight to build a four-goal cushion at the break. The margin was pushed to six in the third and that is where it would finish on a rainy day at Kibler Field.Â

How It Happened
- Ursinus jumped out in front with a goal in the opening two minutes before
Morgan Sutherland quickly responded to tie the game back up. After a quiet period from both teams, Washington reeled off three goals 37 seconds as Sutherland grabbed a second before
Mia Salvatierra and
Anna Wilson found the net.  Â

-Ursinus pulled one back at the end of the first period to make it 5-2. The Shorewomen took control of the match from there asÂ

Tobin Chambers and
Ellie Morrall each found the net in the opening six minutes of the second to push the lead to 7-2. Ursinus picked up two of the final three goals in the first half to make it an 8-4 game at the break. Â

- The Shorewomen opened up the third with two goals in the opening two minutes to push the lead to 10-4. Ursinus picked things up on the offensive end in the second half but the Shorewomen had an answer for every goal. Up 13-8 in the fourth, Sutherland notched a fourth goal before Salvatierra scored a second to put the game to bed in the final minutes.   Â
