#10 Bullets Overcome Slow Start in 21-8 Win over Shorewomen

Morrall Scores Four Times and Wins 150th Career Draw; Maguire Tallies First Career Goal

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Host #10 Gettysburg allowed the game's first three goals before regrouping to come away with a 21-8 win over visiting Washington College 21-8 on Saturday afternoon at Clark Field in a Centennial Conference women's lacrosse game.  The Bullets move to 7-3 on the season and 2-0 in the Centennial, while the Shorewomen drop to 5-4 and 1-1 respectively.

How It Happened
- Washington jumped out to a 3-0 lead with 6:53 left in the first quarter as Ellie Morrall scored her second straight goal after Anna Wilson netted the game's opening goal from Morgan Sutherland 76 seconds into the game.
- Emily Crane would score the next three for the Bullets to level the contest at 3-3 with 1:56 left in the first before Jordan Basso put the hosts ahead 4-3 with two ticks left in the first.  Gettysburg scored the four goals in the last 3:55 of the opening stanza.
- MaryCate Anson would tie the game at 4-4 1:45 into the second quarter before the Bullets tallied the next three to take a 7-4 advantage with 8:10 to go on a Crane score.  Gabi Connor put the hosts ahead 5-4 with 12:30 remaining in the second on a feed from Basso.
- Abby Laubach would trim the lead to 7-5 with 6:13 remaining before the Bullets scored the next two to take a 9-5 lead into halftime as Crane netted her fifth of the game with 5.9 seconds left.
- In the third quarter, the Bullets scored the final seven of the stanza to lead 17-6 after three.  Morrall had the Shorewomen's lone goal with 12:54 remaining that trimmed it to 10-6.
- The Bullets outscored the Shorewomen 4-2 in the fourth quarter to close out the game.  Morrall tallied her fourth goal of the day on a free position with 8:53 left and Madison Maguire scored her first career goal from Anson with 1:05 remaining for the last goal of the contest.

For The Shorewomen (5-4, 1-1 CC)
- Scoring: Morrall (squad-high four goals), Anson (goal and assist)
- In Goal: Sydney Wingate (45:00, 13 saves, 17 goals allowed), Emily Markley (15:00, one save, four goals allowed)
- Morrall (team-best five draw controls)
- WC went 12-for-13 in clears, went 1-for-3 in free position shots and had three ground balls.
- The Shorewomen had three more turnovers than the Bullets, 11-8.

For #10 Gettysburg (7-3, 2-0 CC)
- Scoring: Caroline Sullivan (game-best six assists and six points), Crane (game-high five goals), Julia Daly (four goals and one assist), Basso and Katie Fullowan (two goals and three helpers), Kelly O'Connor (two goals and one helper), Julie Breedveld (two goals), Maddie Passarello (goal and assist)
- In Goal: Gill Cortese (60:00, eight saves, eight goals allowed)
- Fullowan (game-best seven draws), Sullivan (game-highs of four ground balls and three caused turnovers)
- Gettysburg, who had a 42-18 advantage in shots, had 13 ground balls and held a 20-12 edge in draw controls.
- The Bullets went 14-for-15 in clears and went 0-for-1 in free position chances.

Notes
- With her five draws, Morrall became the fifth player in program history to win 150 career draws and she now has 151 in her career.
