CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College outscored visiting Rowan 4-1 in the fourth quarter to come away with a 10-7 win in a non-conference women's lacrosse game on Wednesday evening at Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium. The Shorewomen improve to 3-2 on the year, while the Profs drop to 2-2.

How It Happened

Ellie Morrall put the hosts ahead 3:27 into the game on an unassisted goal before the guests scored the next two to take a 2-1 lead with 3:22 left in the first quarter on an
Elaina Corson score.
- The lead was short lived as 37 seconds later
Ashley Devlin converted a free position to tie it at 2-2 and that would be the score after one.
- In the second quarter,
Mia Salvatierra would make it 5-3 with 3:23 to go in the second quarter to cap a 3-1 run for the Shorewomen.
- The Profs cut it to 5-4 on a
Calista Burke goal with 2:03 left in the final goal before halftime.
- Morrall would give Washington a 6-4 edge with 12:33 to go in the third before Rowan scored consecutive goals to tie it at 6-6 with 1:40 left in the third on an up goal by
Fiona Lockhart from Cutrera as the Profs scored twice in 80 seconds to level it with Cutrera scoring the first of the two and it would be tied entering the fourth.
- WC would take the lead for good with 12:28 left in the fourth when Salvatierra finished off a pass from Devlin to make it 7-6. Morrall would net her third of the game 1:53 later to give the hosts a two-goal cushion.

Abby Laubach would cash in on a free position make it 9-6 with 9:29 left in the game and
Morgan Sutherland pushed the advantage to four with 6:12 to go on a feed from Morrall.
- Cutrera would get one back for Rowan with 2:46 remaining to trim the lead to 10-7, but could draw no closer.
For The Shorewomen (3-2)
- Scoring: Morrall (three goals and two assists), Salvatierra and Sutherland (two goals), Devlin (goal and assist)
- In Goal:
Sydney Wingate (60:00, nine saves, seven goals)
- Morrall (game-best five caused turnovers and team-high six draw controls), Devlin and Laubach (three ground balls)
- The Shorewomen went 17-for-22 in clears, 2-for-4 in free position shots and picked up 19 ground balls while outshooting the Profs 28-20.
For Rowan (2-2)
- Scoring: Cutrera (three goals and one assist), Burke (two goals),

- In Goal:

- The Profs went 10-for-16 in clears and had seven more turnovers than WC, 21-14.
- Rowan went 0-for-3 in free position chances and totaled 17 ground balls.

- Washington has won eight of the past 12 meetings versus Rowan.
