Senior sailor Stewart Gurnell (Old Saybrook, Conn./Xavier) is this week's Shoreman of the Week. Gurnell skippered the winning A Division boat at the Ocean County Spring Open this weekend in New Jersey as the team won the overall regatta.

Gurnell and freshman crew Rachel Morgen led WC to victories in 11 of the 13 races. Washington finished with 17 points, 32 points better than second place Hampton who finished with 49 points in the A Division as the division consisted of 13 boats. The Shore Sailors won the overall regatta with 65 points, eight better than second place Hampton who finished with 73 points.    

This is Gurnell's fifth career Shoreman of the Week honor.
