The coxswain and eight rowers of the women's rowing team's second varsity 8+ share this week's Shorewoman of the Week honor. The second varsity 8+ won its race at the Upper Schuylkill Challenge on Saturday in suburban Philadelphia.
The Shorewomen's second varsity 8+ captured the top spot with a time of 8:27:72, topping second place Bryn Mawr by 6.01 seconds.
The second varsity 8+ consisted of junior rower Keira Anderson (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna), senior rower Caroline Becker (Guilderland, N.Y./Guilderland), senior rower Amelia Bonsib (Wilmington, Del./Charter School of Wilmington), freshman rower Maura Collins (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway West), sophomore rower Sam Joyce (Greentown, Ind./Jackson Memorial [N.J.]), freshman rower Heather Lamont (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge), junior rower Alexandra Szynal (Annapolis, Md./Tabor Academy [Mass.]), freshman coxswain Alli Tinkham (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville South), and sophomore rower Faye Webb (Coram, N.Y./The Young Woman Leadership School of America).
This is the fourth career Shorewoman of the Week honor for Bonsib, third for Becker and Szynal, second for Joyce and first for Anderson, Collins, Lamont, Tinkham and Webb.
