WESTMINSTER, Md.– Washington College baseball traveled to McDaniel for a Tuesday Centennial Conference matchup. The Shoremen took a lead in the second inning and then again in the fourth but a McDaniel rally in the bottom of the fourth put the Terror up for good in a 6-4 home win. Â

How it happened:
-The Shoremen took a 1-0 lead in the second inning after
Luke Herz reached via error and was knocked in by a
Scooter SanFilippo RBI single. The Terror tied the game in the bottom of the second and then took the lead on a squeeze play. Â
-Washington re-took the lead after a Herz RBI single and SanFilippo sacrifice fly to make it 3-2. McDaniel gained the lead a gain with a three-run rally in the bottom of the fourth. Â
-McDaniel added an insurance run in the seventh to make 6-3. The Shoremen were able to scratch across a run in the ninth but could not get another baserunner to threaten the McDaniel lead as the game ended 6-4 in favor of the Terror. Â

Luke Herz and
Elias Philiposian both added a hit and RBI for the Shoremen.Â

Ashton Mehler took the loss, surrendering four earned runs from seven hits and a pair of walks in 6.0 inning of work. Mehler also struck out seven.Â

Pitching:
-Remy Mangum picked up the win in relief of the starter Gannon Williams. Mangum threw 2.2 scoreless innings, allowing just two baserunners from a hit and a hit batter.Â
