SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Sophomore attacker
Tobin Chambers (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) scored the game-winning goal with 4:16 to go in the fourth quarter from junior attacker
Morgan Sutherland (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) to cap a 3-0 fourth quarter and comeback from three down late in the third quarter to give visiting Washington College a 7-6 road win over host Swarthmore on Wednesday night at Clothier Field in Centennial Conference women's lacrosse action. The Shorewomen are now 8-7 overall and 4-4 in the Centennial, while the Garnet is 10-5 overall and 3-5 in the Centennial.

How It Happened
- Washington got onto the board 32 seconds into the game on a Chambers score from
Ashley Devlin.
- The lead would be short lived however as 62 seconds later
Sophie Finkelstein tied it at 1-1 on a pass from
Lillian Lewis.
- The Shorewomen scored the last two goals of the first quarter to take a 3-1 lead after one with Sutherland netting a free position tally with 8:57 left.Â
Ellie Morrall scored unassisted with 11:17 remaining in the first to give WC a 2-1 edge.
- Finkelstein scored the only goal of the second quarter with 2:30 to go for the Garnet to trim the guests' lead to 3-2 and that would be the halftime score.
- Swarthmore would level it at 3-3 at the 4:14 mark in the third with Finkelstein netting her third of the game. It would start a run of three goals in 100 seconds as
Isabela Bloomquist scored seven seconds after Finkelstein's tying score to give the home team its first lead of the game, 4-3, and Bloomquist would put the Garnet ahead by two with 9:06 to go in the third quarter.
- Bloomquist would score again to give the hosts a 6-3 lead with 6:47 left.
- Washington would get one back before the end of the quarter with 1:36 remaining as Sutherland cashed in on a free position to trim the deficit to 6-4.

Anna Wilson would score off of a rebound 3:22 into the fourth and it was a one goal game, 6-5.
- Devlin earned a free position shot from the top of the eight-meter and would level the contest at 6-6 with 8:16 to go.
- The winning goal by Chambers came on a pass from Sutherland exactly four minutes later and WC had its first lead since early in the third, 7-6.
- Swarthmore had one shot in the final 4:16 and it came from
Emma Holub and it went wide with 2:20 left.
- The Garnet would turn it over with 1:45 to go and the Shorewomen were able to run the clock down to 15 seconds before a shot-clock violation.
- Swarthmore, who had to go the full length of the field, was unable to get the ball into the attacking zone before the clock expired and Washington came away with a one-goal win.

- The Garnet went 16-for-18 in clears and had six more turnovers than WC, 17-11.
- Swarthmore went 0-for-1 in free position chances, totaled 16 ground balls and recorded five caused turnovers.
