CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College broke open an 8-5 halftime lead with an 8-0 third quarter to lead 16-5 after three quarters in an 18-7 win over visiting McDaniel in the home and regular season finale on Saturday afternoon at Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium in Centennial Conference women's lacrosse action. The Shorewomen finish the regular season at 9-7 overall and 5-4 in the conference, while the Green Terror cap their season a 4-12 and 1-8 respectively. With the win, the Shorewomen locked up the four seed in the upcoming Centennial Conference Tournament and will host Ursinus on Wednesday with the time to be announced on Monday morning.

How It Happened
- McDaniel took its lone lead of the game with 4:26 left in the first quarter on a Jordon Gambrill free position goal.

Morgan Sutherland scored to tie it at 3-3 with 42 ticks left on an unassisted score and that would be the score after one.

Ellie Morrall would put the Shorewomen ahead for good, 4-3, with 12:07 to go in the second quarter on an unassisted goal.
- Sutherland would become the 33rd player in team history to net 100 career points as she assisted on a goal by
Anna Wilson with 11:08 left in the second that made it 5-3.
- Morrall scored capped the 6-0 run that spanned the first and second quarters with 1:38 to go on a free position that made it 8-3 as the hosts scored the first five of the second.
- The Green Terror scored twice in the final 63 seconds to cut the lead to 8-5 with 29 ticks to go on an

- The 18 goals was a season-high as the previous best was 17 in the season opening win at FDU-Florham.
- Washington, who clinched a spot in the conference tournament with its 7-6 win at Swarthmore, will be participating in its 11th consecutive Centennial Tournament, the longest streak by a WC team that must qualify for the CC Tournament and 14th overall. The run began in 2011 and there was no conference tournament in 2020 or 2021 due to COVID.
- The Shorewomen will host Ursinus, who secured the five seed with its 17-15 win over visiting Dickinson earlier today. Both teams finished 5-4 in the Centennial, but the Shorewomen earned the four seed due to their 15-9 head-to-head win on March 25 at home. The other semifinal on Wednesday will be six seeded Muhlenberg at three seed Haverford. The winner of Ursinus-Washington will play at top seed Gettysburg on Friday and the victor of Muhlenberg-Haverford will visit Franklin & Marshall, the two seed, on Friday. The final is on Sunday at the highest remaining seed.
