#7 Bullets Double Up Shoremen in Season Finale, 26-13

Barta, Carrigan and Garrison Score Two Goals Each

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Host #7 Gettysburg used a 7-0 run to open the second quarter to pull away from a 4-3 lead after one to come away with a 26-13 win over visiting Washington College on Saturday afternoon in the season finale on Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium in Centennial Conference men's lacrosse action.  The Bullets are now 12-3 on the season and finished 6-2 in the conference, while the Shoremen finish 8-9 and 2-6 respectively.

How It Happened
- Gettysburg scored the game's first three goals to lead 3-0 just 4:46 into the first quarter on a Jack Dunleavy goal from Kieran Ward.
- The Shoremen scored three of the next four goals to cut the lead to 4-3 after one quarter with Cory Morgan scoring with a second left.
- In the second quarter, the Bullets scored the first seven goals to take an 11-3 lead with 6:32 to go in the quarter on a Kyle Howard goal from George Raymond as Howard scored four during the run.
- Washington got one back with 1:34 left on a Brady McFalls tally to cut it to 11-4 at the break.
- Gabe Velasquez would open the third quarter scoring six seconds in as he won the face-off and went straight to goal and scored to trim it to 11-5 and it would ignite a 4-1 run to open the third as Cam Carrigan netted an unassisted score with 11:21 left to cut the lead to 12-8.
- Gettysburg would answer with a 10-1 run spanning the third and fourth quarters to grab a 23-9 lead with 8:39 to go in the fourth on a Howard man-down score.
- WC outscored the hosts 4-3 the rest of the way to provide the final margin.

For The Shoremen (8-9, 2-6 CC)
- Scoring: Carrigan, Parker Barta and Connor Garrison (two goals), Ewan Temple (goal and assist)
- In Goal: Cole Corrigan (26:29, 11 goals allowed, five saves), Robert Eiganrauch (24:05, 11 goals allowed, five saves), Will Charvala (5:32, three goals allowed, zero saves), Hunter Shank (3:54, one goal allowed, zero stops)
- Jack Theriault (9-for-12 on face-offs) and Tom Merritt (six ground balls).
- Washington was 13-for-21 in clears in the contest and was 2-for-5 on the man-up.
- The Shoremen had 17 turnovers, while causing five Gettysburg turnovers.

For #7 Gettysburg (12-3, 6-2 CC)
- Scoring: Howard (game-highs of seven goals and 11 points; four assists), Raymond (contest-best seven assists; three goals and 10 points), Ward (two goals and four helpers), Ethan Kessler (two goals and three assists), Dunleavy and Ryan Cernuto (two goals and assist), Brett Ginac and Quinton Mather (two scores)    
- In Goal: Chase Morgan (54:50, 11 goals allowed, six saves)   
- Jonathan Moshe (game-best seven ground balls).
- The Bullets were 18-for-19 in clears, 4-for-6 in man-up situations and turned it over 10 times, while notching 13 caused turnovers.
- Gettysburg held a 64-32 advantage in shots and 36-29 in ground balls.

Notes
- Both teams won 21 face-offs in the game. 
- Representing the squad for the final time today were Corrigan, Eiganrauch, McFalls, Temple, Luke Brennan, Logan Clefisch, Kain Domenech, Chase Orr, Erik Parry, Kyle Stansbury, Jackson Torppey, TC White and Jack Winters prior to the game.
