NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Washington College women's tennis team opened up its fall slate this weekend at the James T. & Sarah C. Eyre Tennis Courts on the campus of Christopher Newport University in the Christopher Newport University Tournament. The Shorewomen competed against host Christopher Newport, Division I's Norfolk State and Mary Washington.

Soleil Namunyola won two matches for the Shorewomen, topping Mary Washington's
Evie Snyder, 6-4, 3-6, 11-9, and Christopher Newport's
Erin Gross, 2-6, 6-3, 10-5.
Piper Sartison and
Isabella Sorhegui each won one match with Sartison downing
Isabella Cottrell of Norfolk State, 6-0, 6-0, and Sorhegui topping Gross, 6-2, 5-7, 10-8.
Doubles
- The Shorewomen competed in four doubles matches over the weekend, two each against Mary Washington and Christopher Newport.
