#4 Sea Gulls Pull Away from Shorewomen in the Fourth, 4-0

Schurman Sets Career-High with 13 Saves

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting #4 Salisbury scored three times in the fourth quarter to turn a 1-0 lead into a 4-0 win over host Washington College in a non-conference field hockey game on Wednesday evening on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.  The Sea Gulls improve to 3-0 on the season, while the Shoremen fall to 2-1.

How It Happened
- After a scoreless first half, Marli McDorman would give Salisbury the lead 3:12 into the third quarter when she gathered the ball, beat a defender and scored from the left side.  It would be 1-0 entering the fourth quarter.
- Salisbury would take a 2-0 lead with 7:58 left in the fourth when McDorman gathered a pass from Mack Dinopoulos' pass off of a penalty corner and scored from the top of the circle to make it 2-0.
- Dinopoulos would get a goal 1:46 after McDorman's second goal on a feed from Arden Hunteman to push the lead to three.
- Elle Wood concluded the scoring with 4:46 left off of a rebound as the Sea Gulls scored three times in 3:12.

For The Shorewomen (2-1)
- Scorer: None
- Goalkeeper: Charlotte Schurman (13 saves, 4 goals allowed, 60:00)
- Washington had one shot and one penalty corner in the contest.

For #4 Salisbury (1-2)
- Scorers: McDorman (two goals), Dinopoulos (goal and assist), Wood (goal), Hunteman (assist)
- Goalkeeper: Addy O'Connell (0 saves, 0 goals allowed, 60:00)
- The Sea Gulls had 30 shots and 16 penalty corners in the game.

Notes
- Schurman was named the Goose Nation TV Shorewoman Player of the Game during the broadcast.
