Cardinals Top Shorewomen in Three Sets

McKechnie Totals 18 Assists and Six Kills

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Host Catholic hit .240 on its way to a 3-0 win (25-22, 25-19, 25-16) over visiting Washington College on Wednesday night on Franny Murray Court.  The Cardinals improve to 3-1 overall, while the Shorewomen drop to 0-5.

How It Happened
- WC led 22-21 following a kill by Angelina Schaber before Catholic rallied to win the set with the final four points.  An attack error gave the host Cardinals a 23-22 lead and a Halie Murphy kill clinched the set for Catholic.
- The Cardinals used an 8-0 run in the second set to take control of it, 14-7, on a Sydney Sheppard kill.  An attack miscue by the Shorewomen ended the second set.    
- Leading 14-13 in the third set, Catholic rolled off eight of the next points to take a 22-14 lead on a hitting error by Washington.  The hosts secured the set and match on an attack error by the guests.

For The Shorewomen (0-5)
- Allison McKechnie (18 assists and six kills), Mary Miller (nine digs), Logan Kenny (two blocks), Anna Titter (three aces)
- Team hit .038 in the contest, totaled three rejections and served up eight aces.

For Catholic (3-1)
- Olivia Blondin (match-high 10 kills), Sheppard (21 assists), Gaby Hernandez-Ferraiouli (14 digs), Tanya Sichling (11 digs), Izzy Steinberg (two aces), Erin Faughnan and Grace Guerin (two blocks)
- The Cardinals hit .240 in the contest, had four blocks and three aces.
