CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College scored one goal in each half to come away with a 2-0 win over visiting Hood on Saturday night on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium in non-conference women's soccer action. The Shorewomen improve to 1-1-1 with the win, while the Blazers drop to 2-2-0. The game was delayed by 95 minutes due to lightning in the area.

How It Happened
- Washington struck 78 seconds into the contest as
Gina Phillips gathered a pass from
Reagan Longridge and her shot from about 15 yards out found the lower left corner of the net to put the Shorewomen ahead for good 1-0. The score was Phillips' first collegiate goal.
- Hood got its only shot on target in the 13th minute on a long distance shot of around 35 yards by
Caroline Roberts, but it was saved by WC goalkeeper
Olivia Allen.
- WC took a 1-0 lead into halftime, holding a 12-2 edge in shots.
- In the second half, the Shorewomen got their insurance goal with 19:44 remaining as
Grace Kelley headed in a pass from
Sophie Kilbride in the lower middle of the goal to put the hosts ahead 2-0 to cap the scoring.
- The Blazers did not get a shot off in the final 45 minutes.
