BALTIMORE, Md. – Host #17 Johns Hopkins scored on a penalty kick with 12:01 left in the game for the lone goal of the contest in a 1-0 win over visiting Washington College in a Centennial Conference men's soccer match at Homewood Field on Wednesday night. The Blue Jays improve to 9-3-3 overall and 5-1-1 in the Centennial, while the Shoremen fall to 8-3-4 and 4-2-1 respectively on the year.

How It Happened
- Washington's
Katim Njie had the first shot of the game at the five minute mark of the first half, but it was off target.
- The Blue Jays had the first shot on goal in the 19th minute, but
Anthony Pinto made the save.
- Johns Hopkins had the last shot of the first stanza, but it was off the mark with 13 ticks to go before the break as the teams were scoreless at the half.
- With 12:01 to go in the second half, a Blue Jay was tripped in the box and the home side was awarded a penalty kick. The kick hit the underside of the crossbar and dropped into the lower right side of the goal to give the hosts a 1-0 edge.
- The Shoremen's final chance came at the very end on a shot from
Samuel Knauf from about 25 yards out on the right side, but it was saved for the team's only shot on goal in the game.
