Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Shoremen Taken Down By Sea Gulls 74-45

Chestertown, MD – Washington College Men's Basketball falls to the Sea Gulls of Salisbury University on Wednesday Night, 74-45.

Washington College 45 Salisbury 74

How It Happened

  • The Shoremen were able to hop out to a 9-6 lead early in the first half. The first points for the Shoremen were scored by Precieux Tshibangu off an assist from Nicho Simes 50 seconds into the opening half.
  • The Shoremen held the lead until three minutes remained in the half. Simes hit one of two free throws with three minutes left and scored the last point of the half for the Shoremen. They trailed 28-24 heading into halftime.
  • Nolan Waldon hit a fast-break three pointer two and a half minutes into the second half to try and get scoring started for the Shoremen, they trailed by six, 33-27.
  • That would be the smallest of leads for the Sea Gulls as they battled the Shoremen offensively throughout the second.
  • A layup by Max Portnoy assisted by Ben Costello nine minutes into the half brought the Shoremen within 14 of the Sea Gulls, but the Shoremen offense could not gain much rhythm as they fell to the Sea Gulls 74-45.

For The Shoremen (4-5)
Nolan Waldon ( 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals )
Nicho Simes ( 5 points )
