#5 Sea Gulls Top Shorewomen, 19-5

Salvatierra Scores Twice and Adds Two Helpers for WC

SALISBURY, Md. – Visiting #5 Salisbury scored the game's first two goals and never trailed in a 19-5 win over host Washington College in a non-conference women's lacrosse game on Saturday afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium.  The Sea Gulls improve to 4-0 on the year, while the Shorewomen slide to 4-1.

How It Happened
- Miranda Mears gave Salisbury a 2-0 lead on a free position with 10:20 to go in the first quarter.
- Washington would get on the board 34 seconds later on an up-goal as Ashley Devlin finished off a feed from Mia Salvatierra.
- That's as close as the Shorewomen would get as the Sea Gulls scored the final four goals of the opening stanza to lead 6-1 after one with Abby Lantos scoring the final goal of the quarter with 2:53 to go.
- The Sea Gulls scored all six goals in the second quarter to take a 12-1 lead into halftime.  Leah Vilov scored the last of the six with 7:12 to go before halftime.
- Salisbury outscored Washington 4-2 in the third to lead 16-3 after three and 3-2 in the fourth to provide the final margin.

For The Shorewomen (4-1)
- Scoring: Salvatierra (two goals and two assists)
- In Goal: McKenna Seashole (45:00, eight saves, 16 goals), Emily Markley (15:00, one save, three goals)
- Abby Laubach (five draw controls) and Madison Maguire (three ground balls)
- WC went 9-for-12 in clears, went 1-for-5 in free position shots and had 10 ground balls.
- The Shorewomen had 10 turnovers in the game.

For #5 Salisbury (4-0)
- Scoring: Vilov and Julianna Ott (three goals), Lauren Hackett (three assists), Alexandra Parker (goal and two assists), Lantos, Mears, Mary Hanzsche, Caroline Knight and Erin Scannell (two goals), Meredith Price (two assists), Camryn Pepper (goal and assist)
- In Goal: Kaitlyn Hunsinger (30:00, six saves, one goal), Gabriella Dorsey (21:17, two saves, two goals), Jaclyn Bange (6:48, one save, two goals), Paige Ellis (1:55, one save, zero goals)
- Scannell (six draw controls) and Hackett (two caused turnovers)
- The Sea Gulls went 11-for-12 in clears and had 10 turnovers.
- Salisbury went 2-for-4 in free position shots and totaled 12 ground balls.
- The guests won 18 of the 28 draws in the game as they held a 39-17 advantage in shots.

- Salvatierra was named Goose Nation TV Shorewoman Player of the Game.
- Salisbury's Mary Hanzsche is the cousin of 2010 WC graduate Allie Hanzsche who played for Shorewomen Lacrosse from 2007-10.
