#6 Bullets Use Early Surge in 19-7 Win over Shorewomen

Laubach Hands Out Two Assists for WC

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting #6 Gettysburg took a 10-0 lead after one quarter on its way to a 19-7 win over host Washington College on Saturday afternoon at Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium in a Centennial Conference women's lacrosse game.  The Bullets are 8-2 on the season and 2-0 in the Centennial, while the Shorewomen are 7-3 and 1-1 respectively.

How It Happened
- Julie Breedveld got the Bullets opening goal just 66 seconds into the game on a free position score and 18 seconds later Maddie Passarello finished off a pass from Julia Daly to give Gettysburg a 2-0 lead.
- Emily Crane would score of the last eight goals of the first quarter, including the last one with eight seconds left, as the visiting side took a 10-0 lead after one.
- Tobin Chambers ended the run with Washington's first goal of the game with 11:08 to go in the second quarter on a pass from Abby Laubach.
- The Bullets would score four of the final five goals of the second to take a 14-2 lead at halftime with Nina Marra scoring unassisted with 1:31 remaining for the last goal of the second.
- Gettysburg outscored Washington 3-2 in the third, while the Shorewomen held a 3-2 edge in the fourth to provide the final margin.

For The Shorewomen (7-3, 1-1 CC)
- Scoring: Laubach (two assists)
- In Goal: McKenna Seashole (60:00, 15 saves, 19 goals)
- Laubach (three ground balls and three draw controls), MaryCate Anson (three draws)
- The Shorewomen had three caused turnovers, while turning it over 19 times.
- WC went 11-for-15 in clears, picked up eight ground balls and did not attempt a free position shot.

For #6 Gettysburg (8-2, 2-0 CC)
- Scoring: Crane (game-best five goals), Julia Daly (three goals and assist), Jordan Basso (goal and contest-high three helpers)
- In Goal: Gill Cortese (15:00, three saves, zero goals), Juliette Devarenne (30:00, one save, four goals) and Caroline Storer (15:00, two saves, three goals)
- Devarenne and Camryn Epstein (three ground balls), Emily Seymour and Dillon Troy (two caused turnovers), Annie Nikolic and Crane (five draws)
- The Bullets, who held a 50-15 advantage in shots, went 13-for-16 in clears and had just nine turnovers.
- Gettysburg went 2-for-6 in free position chances, totaled 27 ground balls and recorded 11 caused turnovers.
- The visitors held a 16-12 advantage in draw controls.

Notes
- Bossi was named the Goose Nation TV Shorewomen Player of the Game on the broadcast.
- Laubach, who moved into third place in program history in career draws last week at Ursinus, now has 169 career draw controls.
