HAVERFORD, Pa. – Host #23 Haverford used a 5-0 run spanning the first and second quarters to take the lead for good at 7-3 in a 12-7 win over visiting Washington College in a Centennial Conference women's lacrosse game on Wednesday night at Swan Field. The Fords are now 7-3 overall and 3-0 in the Centennial, while the Shorewomen are 7-4 and 1-2 respectively.  Â

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen took a 3-2 lead with 3:46 to go in the first quarter on an
Abby Laubach goal, her second straight in the game.
- Haverford responded 41 seconds later on a
Daniela Martini score and took the lead on a free position with 12 ticks left in the first by
Kylie Kearon to give the Fords a 4-3 lead after one. The Kearon tally put the home team ahead for the remainder of the night.
- In the second quarter, the Fords scored the first three goals to take a 7-3 lead with 5:58 to go on a
Kylie McNamara score from
Sophia Jaffe.

Piper Evans would end the run with 4:22 to go to trim the lead to 7-4, but Jaffe scored with three seconds before halftime from
Brooke Epstein to give the Fords a 8-4 advantage at halftime.
- Washington scored the opening two goals of the third quarter to cut the lead to 8-6 with 3:37 remaining on a
Tobin Chambers tally from Laubach.
- The Fords got the final score of the third to take a 9-6 lead into the fourth on an Epstein goal from Kearon.
- Haverford scored the first three goals of the fourth to put the game away, the final coming on an up score by McNamara from Martini with 2:22 to play to make it 12-6 before WC got its lone score of the fourth with 31 seconds to go on a Chambers goal from
Anna Wilson to provide the final margin.
