CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College secured its 12th straight trip to the Centennial Conference Tournament as it held off a fourth quarter charge from visiting Swarthmore in a 12-9 win on Wednesday night at Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium in Centennial Conference women's lacrosse action. The Shorewomen, who clinched their spot shortly after their game when Muhlenberg edged Ursinus 14-13, improve to 9-6 overall and 4-4 in the conference, while the Garnet are 8-6 overall and 2-6 in Centennial play.

Isabela Bloomquist scored the game's opening goal for Swarthmore 2:49 into the first quarter, Washington scored the last five goals of the first quarter to lead 5-1 with
Piper Evans scoring a down goal with nine ticks left.
Mia Salvatierra put the Shorewomen ahead for the rest of the game with 11:09 to go in the first on an assist from
Tobin Chambers.

Abby Laubach scored the first goal of the second quarter 38 seconds into the stanza to take a 6-1 lead and complete the six-goal run by the Shorewomen.
- The Garnet got the next two to cut the lead to 6-3 with 10:53 left in the second on a
Isabela Bloomquist down goal from
Abigail Love.

Tobin Chambers would give the home team a 7-3 advantage into halftime on a score with 1:53 to go with
Valerie Rock netting the assist.
- Leading 9-4 in the third, Salvatierra would score three times in a span of 2:42 with the final two goals coming in 37 seconds of each other to give WC a 12-4 cushion heading into the fourth.
- Swarthmore scored all five goals in the fourth to trim the deficit to 12-9 with 2:08 to go on a
Zoe Crawford tally from Bloomquist. The Garnet's final chance to cut it to a two-goal game with by
Carly Rodrigues-Reilly with 1:07 to go, but her shot was denied by Washington goalie
McKenna Seashole and the Shorewomen ran out the clock.

- The Shorewomen, who won 15 of the game's 24 draws, outshot the Garnet 30-26 and had six caused turnovers.
- WC went 19-for-20 in clears, went 2-for-4 in free position shots and picked up 16 ground balls.
For Swarthmore (8-6, 2-6 CC)

- The Garnet went 22-for-27 in clears and had one more turnover than WC, 18-17.

- Laubach was named the Goose Nation TV Shorewoman Player of the Game.
- Washington has bested Swarthmore 12 times in a row and 15 of the past 16 dating back to 2008. The Garnet's lone win in the stretch was a 13-12 result in 2011.
- The Shorewomen qualified for their 15th overall Centennial Conference Tournament which dates back to 2001. Only Gettysburg and Franklin & Marshall have qualified for more as both have qualified for all 22.
- Shorewomen Lacrosse's 12th straight visit to the CC Tournament extends its school record for consecutive trips to the conference tournament for teams that must qualify. Shoremen Lacrosse earned a spot in the first nine Centennial Tournaments from 2001-09.
