#23 Garnet Top Shorewomen, 9-0

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Host #23 Swarthmore, ranked eighth in the Atlantic South Region, downed visiting Washington College, 9-0, on Wednesday afternoon in Centennial Conference women's tennis action at the Michael Mullan Tennis Center.

Doubles
- Swarthmore won all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 advantage into singles.
- The Garnet's awarded the victory at third doubles as the Shorewomen were unable to field a duo.
- The hosts' pairing of Spencer Watts and Ruthie Njagi made it 2-0 with an 8-2 win over guests' Piper Sartison and Isabella Sorhegui at No. 2.
- Swarthmore's tandem of Lola Diaz and Erica Stutz came away with an 8-6 victory over WC's tandem of Eva Kading and Soleil Namunyola at the top flight to complete the sweep for the home side.

Singles
- The Garnet clinched the match due to the Shorewomen not having players available at No. 5 and No. 6 singles to lead 5-0.
- Ella Strickler made it 6-0 for the hosts in a 6-1, 7-5 win at third singles over Sartison.
- Oviya Kumaran registered an 8-2 win over Namunyola at No. 2.
- Diaz edged Kading at first singles, 8-6, in the second to last match to conclude.
- In the last match to be played, Stutz topped Sorhegui at No. 4, 8-0.

Notes
- The Shorewomen are 2-8 on the season, while the Garnet are 5-3.  WC is 1-1 in the conference, while Swarthmore is 2-0 in the Centennial.
