How It Happened
  • Lexi Barnhart singled to third base trying to get things going for the Shorewomen in the bottom of the second inning. Julia Guzman pinch ran for Barnhart and advanced to second as Lilly Wenzel singled to right field. They both stole a base and were in prime scoring position, but were left on base as a ground out to the shortstop ended the inning.
  • Swarthmore went up 1-0 in the top of the third as an unearned run scored off an error by the second basemen.
  • The next hit for the Shorewomen came in the bottom of the third as Julia Weglarz singled through the left side. She was grounded out on the run to second base during the next at bat.
  • Shannon Rosche doubled to left field as the second batter of the fifth inning for the Shorewomen. She was left on base after a line out and ground out halted the inning.
  • Rosche's double would be the last hit for the Shorewomen as they gave up two more runs in the top of the sixth and seventh inning and fell to Swarthmore 3-0.
