OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Host Stevenson topped visiting Washington 3-1 on Friday evening in a non-conference field hockey game on Owings Mills East.  It was the season opener for both squads.

How It Happened
- Stevenson took the lead for the rest of the game 75 seconds into the contest.
- The Mustangs made it 2-0 just 1:26 into the third quarter.
- The Shorewomen got onto the board with 1:43 remaining in the third as Kat Esposito finished off a pass from Samantha McMahon to trim it to 2-1 entering the fourth quarter.
- Stevenson would restore its two-goal lead with 3:01 to go in the game to provide the final margin.

For The Shorewomen
- Scoring: Esposito (goal), McMahon (assist)
- Goalkeeper: Charlotte Schurman (1 save, 3 goals allowed, 60:00)
- Washington had 12 shots and four penalty corners in the contest.
