SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Washington College women's tennis team opened up its fall slate on Saturday at the Van Der Meer Tennis Center on the campus of Sweet Briar College in the Battle of the Blue Ridge.  The Shorewomen competed against host Sweet Briar, Guilford and Piedmont.

Singles
- Soleil Namunyola won two matches for the Shorewomen, winning 4-0, 4-1 against Guilford and 4-1, 5-4 (10-6) versus Piedmont.  Gaby Coutts won against Guilford, 6-2, 6-2, and Isabella Sorhegui picked up a 2-4, 4-2, 1-0 (11-9) victory over Piedmont.

Doubles
- Coutts and Carrie Lord picked up two wins over Sweet Briar by scores of 7-6 (7-4) and 6-1.  Namunyola and Sorhegui gained one victory in a 6-2 triumph against Piedmont.
