Fredericksburg, VA – Women's Tennis competed in the ITA Southeast Regional Tournament this weekend. The Shorewomen collected four singles match wins and two doubles match wins.  

How It Happened  

Singles 

• Soleil Namunyola was defeated in the Championship Division round of 64, 6-2 and 6-0. She advanced to the consolation bracket Sweet 16, but was defeated 8-1. 
• In the Blue 2 division, Isabella Sorhegui defeated her opponent 6-2 and 6-1. She was then swept in the next round 6-0 and 6-0. 
• In the Blue 3 Division Qualifier, Sofia Sperandei swept her opponent 6-0 and 6-0. She advanced to the quarterfinal stage and took down her opponent 6-3 and 7¹⁰-6 . Sperandei lost in the third set of the semifinal round 7-5,0-6, and 10-7.  
• Gabriella Coutts and Rose Greco both were defeated in the first round of the Blue 3 Division. 

Doubles  

• Eva Kading and Soleil Namunyola defeated their opponent 8-2 in the opening round of the Championship bracket. The pair were defeated in the next round 8-6. 
• In the Blue Division, Isabella Sorhegui and Sofia Sperandei took down their opponent 8-4. They advanced to the round of 8, but met their match and fell 8-4. 

Up Next 
The Shorewomen have finished their play for the Fall Semester. Their next match will be Februry 14 in Chestertown as they take on Goucher College.
