BALTIMORE, Md. – Host Notre Dame (Md.) withstood a second half charge from visiting Washington College to come away with a 69-56 win on Thursday afternoon in a non-conference men's basketball game on Gator Court. The Gators are now 4-9 on the campaign, while the Shoremen drop to 4-7.

How It Happened
- Tied at 6-6, the Gators scored nine straight points to take a 15-6 lead with 13:20 to go in the first half.
- The Shoremen answered with six points in a row to cut the lead to 15-12 with 11:17 left on a
Nolan Waldon layup.
- Notre Dame would take its biggest lead of the half of 14 points, 34-20, with 56 seconds left on a traditional three-point play.
- Washington would net the final five points of the first half to trim the deficit to 34-25 at halftime with all five coming from
Ethan Schwantes.
- In the second half,
Ty Woodland would net a layup with 11:09 left to reduce the Notre Dame lead to just one, 43-42, as the lay-in capped a 22-9 run spanning both halves.
- That's as close as the Shoremen would get as the Gators answered with a 12-4 run to take a 55-46 advantage with 6:26 to go.
- Leading 57-50, the home side used a 10-1 run to take its biggest lead of the game at 67-51 with 1:56 remaining before the Shoremen scored five of the final seven points to provide the final margin.
