Chestertown, MD- The Washington College Women's Basketball team faced #5 ranked Johns Hopkins in conference opener. The Shorewomen trailed the ranked Blue Jays by only nine points late in the second quarter, but Johns Hopkins never faded as they took the game, 68-42.

How It Happened
- A layup by Kaitlyn Boggs moved the score to 16-9 in favor of the Blue Jays with two minutes remaining in the opening quarter. Johns Hopkins scored twice more to put the score at 20-9 at the end of the first.
- Emma Robinson and Boggs scored the first four points of the second for the Shorewomen respectively with Ellie Carter-Soriano adding in a free throw to put the Shorewomen within 10, 24-14. It was a 9-8 scoring run in favor of the Blue Jays to end the half, four different Shorewomen contributed to the scoring as the halftime score sat at 33-22.
- The Shorewomen scored a lone four points in the third compared to the Blue Jays' 18. The scoring was almost even in the final period as the Shorewomen scored 16 points to the Blue Jays' 17. The deficit was too much for the Shorewomen as Johns Hopkins took the game, 68-42.
