HAVERFORD, Pa. – Visiting Washington College outscored host Haverford, 38-20, in the second half to register a 64-51 victory over host Haverford on Wednesday night at Gooding Arena in Centennial Conference men's basketball action. The Shoremen, who swept the Fords for the first time in 22 years, are now 8-16 overall and 3-9 in the Centennial, while the Fords drop to 5-19 and 2-10 respectively.
In the win, freshman guard
Nolan Waldon (Philadelphia, Pa./Academy of the New Church) tallied nine steals, the most for a WC player since
Adam Poe had 10 against Wesley on January 31, 1996.

How It Happened
- Haverford jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the first 6:22 of the game following a layup.
- The Fords would push their lead to 10 at 23-13 with 5:20 remaining before halftime on a lay-in.
- Down 29-20, the Shoremen scored six of the last eight points in the last minute, including two layups in the last nine seconds by
Ethan Schwantes and
Ryan Lang respectively to trim the Haverford lead to 31-26 at halftime.
- Washington scored the first six points of the second half to take a 32-31 lead with 18:14 remaining.
- After Haverford retook the lead on a jumper, 33-32, the Shoremen scored nine straight points to take a 41-33 lead with 12:52 left on a
Precieux Tshibangu three.
- The road side would push its lead to as many as 15 in the final minute of the game on a Waldon layup with 29 seconds to go to make it 64-49.
