How It Happened
  • Mary Washington jumped out to a two goal lead in the first quarter before MaryCate Anson put the Shorewomen on the board with a free-position up goal to make the score 2-1.
  • The Eagles scored the next seven goals, taking a 9-1 lead with just over 11 minutes left in the second quarter.
  • Mac Grogan led the response as she scored off an assist from Elisabeth Braswell to record the Shorewomen's second goal of the match. This was the start of a five goal run into the halftime break to cut the deficit to three, 9-6. Braswell and Mia Salvatierra each scored off a free position goal, Piper Evans tallied one off a Grogan assist, and Salvatierra scored again unassisted with 20 seconds remaining in the half.
  • Tobin Chambers scored the first goal of the second half, with help from Salvatierra a minute and twenty seconds after the first draw. Mary Washington scored five of the next six goals to end the third still up, 14-8.
  • The Shorewomen scored the only four goals of the final quarter, Salvatierra twice, Anson once, and Anna Wilson with one of her own, but could not complete the rally as they fell 14-12 to the Eagles.
