FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The Washington College baseball team scored five times in the top of the seventh inning to take a 9-0 lead on its way to an 10-1 win over Lasell on Friday afternoon at Bob Gladwin Stadium in non-conference baseball action. The Shoremen improved to 10-4 and matches their win total of last season, while the Lasers slip to 7-5.  Â

How It Happened
- The Shoremen struck for a pair of one-out runs in the top of the second inning.
Scooter SanFilippo tripled to right to score
Reese Hirsh for the game's first run and SanFilippo would make it 2-0 on an RBI groundout by
Brady Wozniak.
- Three innings later, Washington took advantage of a Lasell error to net a pair of runs. With one out,
Matt Lewis scored on an RBI groundout by
Will Turner and with two outs
Ty Everitt reached home on a
Drew Kinsey two-bagger to right.
- In the top of the seventh, Washington broke the game open with a five-run frame. The run scoring was capped on a Lewis base hit to left that scored SanFilippo with two away as the Shoremen sent nine to the plate.
- Washington added another run in the top of the ninth of an RBI triple to right by Wozniak that scored Hirsh with two away.
- The Lasers broke up the shutout on an RBI single to left with two away in the bottom of the ninth for their lone run of the game

- The Shoremen had one error in the game, leading the lone run for Lasell.
