Chestertown, MD- The Washington College Baseball Team took on Ursinus in the opening weekend of conference play. The Shoremen took game one by one run and dropped the second game by one.
Game 1: Washington College 4 Ursinus 3
How It Happened
- Ty Everitt was walked with two outs in the bottom of the third inning. A wild pitch advanced him to second with Will Turner up to bat. Turner doubled to right field sending Kinsey home and putting the first run on the board for either team, 1-0. Turner stole third and advanced home on a wild pitch as Kinsey was walked to put the second run on the board for the Shoremen, 2-0.
- The Shoremen gave up one run in the top of the fourth, but Zach Stolze had an answer as he homered to center field to put another run on the board for the Shoremen, 3-1.
- Ursinus scored one in the top of the seventh.
- As the second batter in the bottom of the eighth, Chase Ruppel homered to left center field extending the Shoremen score to 4-2.
- Ursinus earned one run in the top of the ninth inning, but the Shoremen held on as they took game one, 4-3.

Game 2: Washington College 7 Ursinus 8
How It Happened
- The Shoremen scored second in the bottom of the first. Ursinus earned two runs in the top of the inning. Ty Everitt reached first on a throwing error by the shortstop. Drew Kinsey sacrifice flied out to the right fielder to send Everitt home and put the Shoremen on the board, 2-1.
- Ursinus scored four runs in the top of the fourth and two in the top of the fifth to go up 8-1 over the Shoremen.
- Everitt doubled to center field to put himself on base in the bottom of the fifth, but no other Shoremen could bat him in as the score remained at 8-1.
- In the bottom of the eighth, Will Turner led off with a home run to left field to put another run on the board for the Shoremen, 8-2. Two batters later, Chase Ruppel homered to the exact same spot. With bases loaded and one out for the Shoremen, Alex Dardaris singled to centerfield sending Zach Stolze home who singled to get himself on base. Everitt was hit by pitch with bases still loaded which earned him a base and sent SanFilippo home. Bases loaded once again with Turner up to bat. Turner singled to left field sending two runs in and putting the Shoremen within one, 8-7.
- The Shoremen would not score again as they surrendered game two, 8-7.
