Wilson Ties Career-Best with Five Goals

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Swarthmore rallied to edge Washington College, 12-11, in a Centennial Conference Women's Lacrosse contest on Saturday afternoon at Clothier Field.

How It Happened

  • The Shorewomen jumped out to a two goal lead in the first quarter. Tobin Chambers scored an unassisted goal 60 seconds into the game, followed by Elisabeth Braswell scoring off a pass from Piper Evans to go up 2-0. 
  • The Shorewomen gave up two goals before Anna Wilson scored on a free position goal to retake the lead. The Shoreomen were up 3-2 after the first quarter.  
  • Wilson scored three consecutive second quarter goals in a span of 3:43, scoring the first with 13:16 remaining in the opening half and her final of the stretch coming with 9:33 left in the stanza. 
  • Evans scored the final goal of the half, as Washington took a 7-5 lead into the break. 
  • The Shorewomen were outscored 4-3 in the third quarter, with Evans scoring twice and Wilson adding another score to take a 10-9 lead into the fourth. 
  • Swarthmore scored five straight goals spanning the third and fourth quarters to take a 12-10 lead. Evans scored the final goal of the contest with 17 seconds remaining as the Shorewomen fell 12-11. 

For The Shorewomen 

  • Scoring: Anna Wilson (5 goals to tie her career-best), Piper Evans (4 goals, 2 assists, career-high 6 points), Tobin Chambers (1 goal, 1 assist).  
  • Goalkeeping: McKenna Seashole (60:00 minutes,  16 saves, 12 goals allowed) 
  • Wilson became the 16th player in team history to win 100 career draws, reaching the milestone with 13:50 to go in the second quarter.
