Namunyola Clinches Win at Top Flight

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College picked up a 6-1 Centennial Conference women's tennis victory over visiting Bryn Mawr on Saturday inside the Johnson Fitness Center.

Doubles
- The Shorewomen took two of the three doubles to record the doubles point. First doubles was the first match to finish, and it was Soleil Namunyola and Eva Kading capturing a 6-4 win for the Shorewomen. Second doubles was won by Washington's Sofia Sperandei and Carrie Lord to secure the point for the home side in a 7-5 result. The Owls won third doubles by a 7-5 score over Isabella Sorhegui and Gaby Coutts.

Singles
- Sorhegui gave the hosts a 2-0 edge with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles.
- Kading put the Shorewomen on the verge of a victory, 3-0, at No. 2 with a 6-3, 6-2 result.
- Jayda Browne won the first set at No. 4 by a 6-0 score, but dropped the next two sets, 6-3, 6-4, to get the Owls their lone point of the match.
- Namunyola won the match for Washington with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 win at No. 1.
- Sixth singles was the second to last match to finish as WC's Coutts won the first set 6-2 and was ahead 1-0 in the second before winning due to retirement by Bryn Mawr.
- Sperandei capped the victory for the Shorewomen with a pair of 6-3 wins at No. 5 in the last match to draw to a close.

Notes
- Both teams are 6-5 overall, with the Shorewomen 3-1 in the Centennial and the Owls falling to 2-2.
- Washington has won nine straight versus Bryn Mawr, dating back to 2015.
