The coxswain and four rowers of the women's rowing team's varsity four share this week's Shorewoman of the Week honor. The boat earned the silver medal for Division III at the Knecht Cup this weekend in Cherry Hill, N.J.
The varsity four won its heat on Saturday morning with a time of 8:36.59, beating second place Stockton by 27.18 seconds. On Sunday in the final, the boat finished with a time of 8:14.47 to capture the silver.
The varsity four consisted of sophomore coxswain Kelsey Sanderell (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley), senior rower Amy MacNair (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) in the first seat, freshman Meredith Bedell (Deerfield, Mass./Tabor Academy) in the second seat, senior Jordan Hyde (Mt. Airy, Md./Urbana) in the third seat and junior Maura Collins (St. Louis, Mo./Parkwest West) in the fourth seat.
This is the fourth career Shorewoman of the Week honor for MacNair, third for Collins and Hyde, second for Sanderell and first for Bedell.
