Will Host Dickinson Wednesday in the First Round of the CC Tournament
SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Host #20 Swarthmore, ranked fourth in the Atlantic South Region, topped visiting Washington College, 7-0, on Saturday in Centennial Conference women's tennis action at the Michael Mullan Tennis Center. With the result, the Shorewomen will be the four seed in the upcoming Centennial Conference Tournament and will host Dickinson on Wednesday afternoon with time to be announced on Monday morning.    Â

Doubles
- The host Garnet took all three doubles points to take the doubles point. No. 1 was the first match to finish and it was Swarthmore winning 6-0 over
Eva Kading and
Soleil Namunyola. The second match to conclude was second doubles and it was the Garnet prevailing 6-0 to secure the point versus
Sofia Sperandei and
Jayda Browne. The last match to come to a close was third doubles and it was 6-3 result against the Shorewomen's
Isabella Sorhegui and
Gaby Coutts.
Singles
- The top spot finished first with
Nathalie Williams, ranked 20th nationally and fifth in the Atlantic South Region, swept Namunyola, 6-0, 6-0.
- Third singles was next to end and Swarthmore took a 3-0 lead with a 6-1, 6-0 score versus Sorhegui.

Erin Li, ranked 48th in the country and 10th in the region secured the win for the Garnet with a 6-3, 6-1 win versus Kading at No. 2.
- The Garnet won at No. 4 in a 6-0, 6-2 victory against Browne.
- Fifth and sixth singles were pro sets as the match was determined and it was 8-1 decisions for both with the home team taking them with Sperandei at five finishing second to last and Coutts at six finishing last.
Notes
- The Shorewomen are 8-8 on the season, while the #20 Garnet are 13-4. WC finishes 5-3 in the Centennial, while the Garnet conclude the slate at 8-0.
- The five teams in the Centennial Tournament will be 1-Swarthmore, 2-Haverford, 3-Franklin & Marshall, 4-Washington College and 5-Dickinson. The winner of Dickinson-Washington Wednesday will travel to Swarthmore on Friday in the semifinal. F&M will travel to Haverford for the other semifinal.
