Shorewomen Softball Fall To Mules In Postseason Play

Allentown, PA– Washington College Softball traveled to face Muhlenberg in the first-round play in game of the Centennial Conference Tournament.

How It Happened  

  • Muhlenberg led 2-0 heading into the top of the second inning. Gracelyn Goforth was walked to lead off the inning for the Shorewomen. Shannon Rosche advanced her to second and put herself on first with a single up the middle. Lilly Cook advanced both runners a base with her sacrifice. Julia Weglarz doubled to left center right after to send the two runs in for the Shorewomen. Jenna Harper batted in Weglarz with a single up the middle and took the lead from the Mules, 3-2. 
  • In the top of the third, Goforth was hit by a pitch to put herself on base. Lilly Cook tripled to left center field with two outs to send Goforth home and extend the Shorewomen's lead by two, 4-2.  
  • Muhlenberg scored two unearned runs to tie the score, 4-4 in the bottom of the fourth. They would score the winning run in the bottom of the sixth and recorded a one two three defensive seventh inning to take the game over the Shorewomen, 5-4.  

For the Shorewomen ( 12-25, 7-10 CC )  
Batting: Julia Weglarz ( 2 hits, 1 double, 2 RBI ), Lilly Cook ( 1 hit, 1 triple, 1 RBI ) 
Pitching: Gen Kozub ( 3.0 innings pitched, 1 strikeout), Emmie Meeks ( 3.0 innings pitched, loss )
