Women's soccer players, senior
Maddy Gaydon (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area) and junior
Sophie Kilbride (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) share this week's Shorewoman of the Week. Gaydon and Kilbride both tied program records in the Shorewomen's 7-0 victory over visiting Hood on Saturday.
Gaydon tied the school record for most goals in game (4) and points (8) in the win against Hood. The senior scored the four goals in a span of 12:33 of the second half, with the last three coming consecutively in just 7:02 of game action. She was the second Shorewomen Soccer player in team history to score four goals and tally eight points in a contest, joining
Laura Mozzer '06, who achieved the feat on September 4, 2004, against Mt. St. Mary (N.Y.) in a 9-0 triumph.
Sophie Kilbride scored two goals and added three assists for seven points, factoring in five of the nine goals in a 2-0-0 week for the Shorewomen, tying the program mark for helpers in a game in Saturday's win over Hood. In the 7-0 victory over Hood, Kilbride tied the program mark for helpers in game (3), netting all of them in the second half as Washington outscored Hood 6-0 in the final 45 minutes. The junior had the three assists in a span of 4:27 of the second half as the Shorewomen turned a 2-0 lead into a 5-0 advantage. Kilbride had the eighth three-assist performance in team history and the first since
Audrey Flanagan '24 did it on October 21, 2023 at Muhlenberg. On Wednesday in the 2-0 win at Rutgers-Camden, Kilbride scored both of the team's goal, the first at 5:12 into the game and the second at the 13:17 mark.
This is Gaydon's second career Shorewoman of the Week honor and Kilbride's first time earning the weekly award.
