Sudlersville, MD- The Washington College Trap and Skeet team competed and refereed at Sudlersville Skeet Club's 79th Delmarva Open from September 19-21. This is one of the oldest skeet tournaments in the country held at a singular club starting in 1938. Over the years the Delmarva Open has been won by multiple World Champions and Hall of Famers. All WCTS athletes become certified NSSA skeet officials in their first year and give back to our home range by serving as referees for their registered events.
WCTS competed in the 12 Gauge Skeet event on Friday, September 19. The team took multiple places while also setting new personal records. Trice Moore '28, shot a personal best of 97/100 and claimed Collegiate Champion as well as 1st place in D class.
MJ Rosenstiel '28, also shot a 97/100 and took Collegiate Runner - Up, as well as 2nd place in A class.
Colin Krug '26, shot a 91/100 and claimed 3rd Place in E class and Collegiate, while setting a new personal best as well. Outside of the collegiate class,
Gracie Heintzelman '28, gained a new personal record and claimed Lady Runner - Up with a 88/100.
Moore also competed in Doubles and the 20 Gauge Skeet event during the weekend. He gained another PR in doubles skeet by smashing a 92/100, while claiming Collegiate Champion as well as 1st place in C class, and Triple Sub Runner - Up. In the 20 Gauge event, Moore also won Collegiate Champion and 2nd place in C class.
Additional Notes: Jeffrey Paes '29 shot a 81/100 and David Daniels '29 shot a 87/100 both setting new personal records.
