CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting Ursinus topped host Washington College, 53-48, on on Saturday afternoon at Penny J. Fall Gym in Centennial Conference women's basketball action. The Bears are now 9-5 this season and 3-1 in Centennial play, while the Shorewomen are 6-8 and 1-3 respectively.

How It Happened
- Washington netted the game's first six points to lead 6-0 with 4:21 to go in the first quarter on a
Kaitlyn Boggs layup. The Shorewomen led 6-4 after 10 minutes.
- The Bears scored the opening eight points of the second quarter to cap a 12-0 run and lead 12-6 on a lay-in with 5:31 remaining.
- It was the Shorewomen who controlled the rest of the quarter with 11 of the final 14 points to take a 17-15 edge into halftime.
Abby Meredith put the Shorewomen ahead for the rest of the stanza on a three with 3:24 to go and hit another triple that made it 17-12 to cap an answer of 11 straight points.
- Tied at 28-28 with 4:54 left in the third after WC tied it on a Meredith three, Ursinus would score eight of the final 11 points to lead 36-31 after three quarters.
- In the fourth, the Shorewomen got it within four points on the five occasions with the last one coming with 2:10 left on two Meredith free throws. The Bears netted three of the final five points to provide the final margin. Â Â
