Baltimore, Md. - The Washington College Shoremen fell to Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays, 3-0, in a Centennial Conference men's soccer game on Saturday night at Homewood Field. The Blue Jays scored three times in the second half to secure the victory while Washington continued to create scoring opportunities, including late attempts from
Niland Gallo and
Tucker Sprano. The Blue Jays go to 8-3-2 overall and 4-0-1 in the conference, while the Shoremen are now 2-5-5 and 0-4-1 respectively.

How It Happened
- Washington College looked to create opportunities early, with
Sixten Nowlan putting a shot on target in the 10th minute that was saved by Johns Hopkins goalkeeper. The Shoremen also earned a corner kick during the sequence.
- Goalkeeper
Hannes Budde kept the match scoreless in the first half, making three saves on shots from the Blue Jays.
- Johns Hopkins broke through in the 52nd minute when the Blue Jays found the back of the net on a free kick from just outside the box into the left side of the net to give them a 1-0 lead.
- The Blue Jays doubled their advantage in the 61st minute to make it 2-0 on a shot from about 12 yards out on the right side into the lower left corner.
- Washington continued to look for an answer, with Sprano putting a shot on target in the 69th minute that was saved. Budde added another save three minutes earlier in the 66th minute to keep the Shoremen within reach.
- Johns Hopkins added its third goal in the 83rd minute into the upper left corner from 15 yards away.
- The Shoremen continued to push late in the match. Gallo had a shot saved in the 88th minute and another attempt that went wide in the 85th minute, while Sprano sent a shot high in the 87th minute. Johns Hopkins held on to complete the 3-0 shutout.
